The Co-Create project
Co-Create is an European collaboration, funded by Erasmus+, aimed at empowering educators and students with digital literacy skills. The project unites partners from Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Iceland in a collaborative effort. Our objectives are to compare digital literacy curricula and academic research, exchange best practices for digital and pedagogical skills, and raise teachers’ confidence in integrating digital literacy into everyday learning. By co-creating and sharing innovative lesson plans, we aim to establish digital literacy as a sustainable and essential part of school culture.
Through action-based learning activities, Co-Create will host five international project meetings and organize ‘learnathons’ where teachers and school leaders directly implement insights in pilot schools. Expected outcomes include enhanced teacher competence, improved integration of digital literacy in school curricula, and the development of sustainable educational strategies.

Project timeline
The Co-Create project covers a duration of 36 months, running from September 2024 to August 2027. Over the course of the project, five transnational meetings will take place, each hosted by one of the participating countries:
- October 2024: The Netherlands
- April 2025: Denmark
- October 2025: Finland
- April 2026: Iceland
- October 2026: Sweden
Between these meetings, participating teachers and school leaders will engage in learnathons. These action-based learning sessions allow them to apply the knowledge and insights gained during the meetings directly in their own schools, fostering innovation and the practical integration of digital literacy skills into everyday teaching.
Participating organizations
Five countries are participating in the Co-Create project: Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Iceland. Each country has a municipality or school board participating as a coordinator, and in each country a pilot school has been selected to join the project.
